History of The Church

Elder Victor Trachel and his wife

Apostolic Temple of Akron, Ohio has a rich and blessed history. This church was founded by the late Eld. Victor Trachsel Sr. in 1939.

Elder Trachsel established the church upon the Apostle’s doctrine and preached the bible standard of salvation according to Acts 2:38.

Bishop Meade’s father, Elder Joseph Meade, visited the church when it was located on Home Ave. in 1952 and heard the anointed preaching of the Word of God, and under conviction, he and my mother repented and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins and were filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I was blessed as a child to be raised in a church that preached what the bible taught. The foundation of this church goes all the way back to 33 A.D. as found in the book of Acts chapter 2 of the bible. We are Apostolic in doctrine and Pentecostal in experience.

My father became the pastor of Apostolic Temple in 1967 and served as spiritual leader for the church for the next 22 years. He then turned the baton of pastoral leadership over to me, his oldest son, in September of 1988. We are endeavoring to keep the faith and preach the same message and principles that this church was founded on. Apostolic Temple promotes strong family values as out people find direction for the rest of their lives, with holiness as a guideline for living and where godliness is still a virtue. Our church is very active and lively in practice with congregational prayer, singing, worship, and testifying, manifesting the power of the Holy Ghost in our services.   We continue to serve the Lord waiting for his soon coming to take a church our of this world to forever be with Him. Let us be READY!   Bishop Donald W. Meade Sr.
